making table

DIY day to make a table. table is used both for serious work and relaxed chatting. A hight of the table  700mm is good for work but too high for relax. So I am making adjustable legs of the table.
The leg of table is made of two folded panels which is high if the bottom is shut, is low if opend widely. Simple way of changing hight of table.

Opening schedule has been organised

4hours a day, 3days a week is a maximum at a moment on volunteer basis.
We are curious about what is going to be, not prepared for everything though.
restroom should not be seen directly from room. a cabinet is placed to make a bundary between a main area and backyard. The room is small but  an unavoidable treatment to be done.

Information board is expecting to be tacked with many pieces  of paper of information.
I was realllllly frustratted with these corkboard bought at NITORI in Nobeoka. They are not straight at all!
Carpenter nor Architect does not like distorted walls!  But we used. Cost is everything.

Only beauty about this room is a view toward Station. but when you sit down on this chair, your eye level comes to the bar which procted man to fall from the window, blooddy architectural law!
Anyway we read books here

Japanes TANSU old furniture found in my old shed,
has revived as an honorable leg of conter and a shelf of bookworm.

the second day of furniture making

bookworm wants books to be presented in various way. I asked him to put one idea in making

small gutter in 240mm is to fix shelf board firmly as well as to be able to ajust the depth of shelf at will from 60mm to 90mm, so that books placed in both face front and back front.

Rented room is not allowed to burden exiting wall, heavy steel cabinet on both side is there to make wooden shelf stable. He is fixing the shelf with two cabinets using screw bolt.

8 by 8 =64 books are able to be displayed on face front. shelf is removable and adjustable to allow us to work out many ideas about exhibiting books
The first day of this job is to make a item of counter, partition wall
Old  camphor tree in my garden was cut and dried for years. This item has a bit bad hole in the middle for a gift to my customers in architectural buisness. So I will take this for bookworm

Old table was cut in half to get a narrow parts for two counters for reading.

Kitchen set is too visible from entrance, then need to put a small wall to make a minimum facad for the entrance of bookworm shop

Base part is also a bookshelf made from Japanese old junk drawers  which still has some characters

Started making furniture

My favorite carpenter Matsumoto puts his hands on carfting for bookworm shop furniture
